Academic Challenges for 2021

When I imagined myself in college, I never thought it would be this way. I believe that the pandemic has taken away the university experience of the first years and that can´t be recovered. This situation has demotivated me, sometimes I want to stop studying while the pandemic continues and come back when it's over. But my moods are varied, and sometimes I want one thing and then another, so I have not done it. In addition, I feel that I´ve not learned much with the online classes, because since I have the necessary materials on hand for the tests, I should not learn them by memory. One of the biggest obstacles to online classes has been getting up to enter classes. As I just have to get up and turn on the computer, many times the desire to stay in bed is very strong (sometimes I go to class and fall sleep hehe, but it's a secret). One of the things that I dislike the most about online classes is that I depend on my internet signal, if it doesn´t work I can´t enter classes and I must wait to see the recording.

My challenges for 2021 are to end the year alive hahaha I mean not being very demotivated in the last days. I also have other challenges that have nothing to do with studies, but I'm not going to tell you about those.

I hope that we will return to normality and face-to-face classes soon. I NEED IT HAHA!

My dream job

I´ve always dreamed of doing research. There was a time when I was obsessed with Indiana Jones and from that moment I´ve wanted to do the same as him. I imagine walking through ancient ruins with my whip and gun. Although I´m clear that it is only a fantasy, I´m content to work outdoors investigating ancient civilizations through the remains they have left. But to be honest, I would love it!

 I would love to work in the countries around the Mediterranean, especially Greece, is my favorite destination. 

One of my dreams is to make a worldwide discovery that contributes to the understanding of ancient history (if it´s possible to find something magical like in Indiana Jones) 

About money, I honestly don't care much, as long as I have to eat and where to sleep I will be fine. The best salary is to know and do what I like

I think this has always been my dream job, maybe at some point I had another orientation and wanted to be an engineer, but it was a short moment of my life (luckily, because now it would be the last thing I would do)

To be honest I don't see it so much as a dream, but as a goal or ambition. Someday I'll make it, I'll be like Indiana Jones !!!

The Role of Technology in my Profession and Life

I´m from the generation that was born with technology, I have lived my whole life using it so I don't know another way of life. But I like to think that I could live without it. I use technological devices from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep. My alarm clock is an application on my phone, my classes are done through the computer and in some of my free time I watch television or read books from the phone. So you see, I always use technology.

I could say that my favorite technology is the phone, cause I consider it´s the most practical. On the phone I take notes from classes, check social media, make calls, send messages, play games, etc.

As I'm a student of art history, many of the works of art that I study are not possible to see live cause they are in other countries. In those cases, the existence of technology and that I can search for images of the works on the internet is very helpful. If the technology didn´t exist, I would have to travel to the places where the works are located, settle for poor quality images or spend a lot of money on art books. That's why technology is an important part of my career.
